FAQ's

A Heritage product is designed to do more than serve a purpose. Materials, construction, function, proportion, finish, and visual presence are all considered as part of the finished piece.

The result should perform exceptionally while bringing something distinctive to the space around it. We create products meant to be used, noticed, and enjoyed for years to come.

There is no single starting point. A new product may begin with an exceptional material, a functional need, an interesting design, a customer request, or simply an idea worth exploring.

What matters is where it finishes.

Before becoming part of the Heritage collection, a product must meet our expectations for function, materials, construction, design, and overall presence. The finished piece has to earn the Heritage name.

Heritage combines hands-on craftsmanship with professional woodworking methods and equipment where they improve precision, consistency, and quality.

We don’t believe craftsmanship is defined by avoiding modern technology. It’s defined by the quality of the finished product. We use the processes and techniques that allow us to create each piece to the standard we expect from Heritage.

We choose materials based on the individual product rather than limiting ourselves to a predetermined list.

That may mean premium hardwoods such as walnut or Purpleheart, reclaimed woods with distinctive character, copper, or other materials that contribute something meaningful to the finished piece.

A material earns its place through what it adds to the product, whether that’s performance, durability, character, appearance, or a combination of them.

Materials are selected based on what best serves each individual product. Depending on the piece, that may include premium hardwoods such as walnut and Purpleheart, reclaimed woods, copper, and other carefully selected materials.

We don’t choose a material simply because it sounds expensive. We choose it because it contributes to the function, appearance, character, or longevity of the finished piece.

Absolutely. Function is just as important to us as appearance.

A cutting board should perform exceptionally as a cutting board. A letter holder should organize what it’s designed to hold. A humidor should properly protect what is stored inside it.

We believe everyday objects don’t have to look ordinary. Heritage products are created to perform their purpose while having enough presence to become part of the room around them.

Heritage has the capability to create specialized and custom pieces, although custom work is not the primary focus of our collection.

If you have a particular project in mind, you’re welcome to contact us. We’ll be happy to determine whether it’s a good fit for Heritage.

Heritage products are made in Chattanooga, Tennessee with an emphasis on quality, consistency, materials, and attention to detail.

Each product must meet the standards we expect before we’re comfortable putting the Heritage name on it.

Natural materials are inherently unique. Grain patterns, coloration, figuring, and other characteristics can vary from one piece of wood to another.

Those differences aren’t something we try to eliminate. They’re part of what gives each piece its individual character. Your product should represent the same design and standard shown in our photographs while retaining the natural characteristics of the materials used to create it.
